Provider Requirements

Mid-State Health Network (MSHN) is a free-standing entity, but was formed on a collaborative basis by twelve Community Mental Health Service Programs (CMHSP Participants).  MSHN, under contract with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), holds agreements with the CMHSP Participants to deliver Medicaid funded specialty behavioral health services in their local areas, so the twelve CMHSP Participants also comprise MSHN’s Provider Network.  Each CMHSP Participant in turn directly operates or enters subcontracts for the delivery of services, or some combination thereof.

MSHN holds agreements with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment and prevention providers to deliver Medicaid, Block Grant, and PA2 funded SUD treatment and prevention services in its 21-County region.

MSHN has provider network management obligations including but not limited to, assurance of overall federal, state, and other compliance mandates, regional service array adequacy, and ensuring provider competency expectations are met in both professional enhancement and service delivery areas.

Providers are expected to adhere to all standards, requirements, and legal obligations contained in MDHHS guidance and requirement documents applicable to the specific services being purchased and provided. Providers are responsible for understanding, demonstrated through service delivery, the content pertinent to the scope of work identified in contract. MSHN will make every effort to inform providers about policy, procedure, or other requirement change(s).
