Mobile Care Unit/Substance Use Disorder Services

Mid-State Health Network (MSHN), a Michigan Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP) organization, is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP’s) seeking bids to partner with a qualified substance use disorder (SUD) treatment provider to deliver Mobile Care Unit SUD services to rural and/or underserved areas in Region 5. The mobile unit will be an RV/bus retrofitted to offer various services and supports to individuals living with opioid and other substance use disorders. Services and supports to be offered include SUD counseling, peer recovery coaching, access to primary and/or behavioral healthcare, infectious disease education and testing, and immunizations. MSHN’s vision is that the mobile unit will travel around its 21-county region to offer on-site SUD services in underserved, predominantly rural areas, such as Osceola, Arenac, Clare, Eaton, Hillsdale, Huron, and Newaygo counties.  The bids will be for an initial contract period of June 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020, with an expected contract renewal for FY2021 beginning October 1, 2020.
